What a good StoryBrand website has in common
Whatever the industry, the best examples follow the same pattern from the StoryBrand framework. As you browse, look for these on each homepage:
- A clear headline above the fold. You can tell what they offer, who it’s for, and how it helps within five seconds.
- The customer is the hero. The copy talks about the visitor’s problem and goals, and the business plays the guide.
- One obvious call to action. A direct button (“Get a Quote”, “Plan Your Visit”) repeated down the page, plus a softer transitional one.
- A simple plan. Three easy steps that make the next move feel low-risk.
- Stakes and success. What the visitor avoids, and what life looks like after working with you.
Not sure how to write your own? Start with a one-page BrandScript, then turn it into a homepage wireframe. The examples below show how other teams did it.
Church StoryBrand Websites
Church websites have two audiences: first-time visitors deciding whether to show up on Sunday, and members looking for events and giving. The strongest StoryBrand church sites lead with a clear invitation (“Plan your visit”), explain what to expect in a few simple steps, and keep sermons, events, and online giving one click away.

Contractor StoryBrand Websites
Contractor sites win when they lead with the homeowner’s problem (a leaky roof, an outdated kitchen) and a plain next step, like a free estimate. Look for process steps, proof such as reviews and before-and-after photos, and a phone number that is always visible. Gary’s Painting & Home Services and Keep It Clean are two sites I built.

eCommerce StoryBrand Websites
Ecommerce brands apply StoryBrand by selling the transformation, not just the product: how the customer will feel or look after using it. Notice the short headlines, benefit-led product copy, and clear shop buttons.
Health, Wellness and Gym StoryBrand Websites
Health and wellness clients are often nervous or in pain when they land on the site. Good examples speak to that directly, show a simple path to book, and use proof like testimonials and credentials to build trust fast.

Lawyer StoryBrand Websites
Legal clients are stressed and short on time. The best law firm sites replace jargon with plain language, name the client’s problem in the headline, and offer a clear call to action such as a free consultation.
